A Toast to Saying Goodbye + Also Saying Hello

Friday, October 16, 2015

Above photo look familiar? The Beetique has covered many desk decor DIYs leading up to my grand finale post, where I finally share my office cubicle makeover. Been following? As far as you know, I turned my 9-5 job into the most comfortable workplace on earth and everything is dandy.

I re-share this for a very bittersweet reason, but to also announce some great news. And no, it's not because I'm sick of seeing chevron and teal everyday!

New Found Love: HASK // Argan Oil

Monday, October 12, 2015

When it comes to my locks, the thirst is real. Both pun & no pun intended. But, it's a picky kinda thirst - kinda like that friend who's desperate to find love, yet has a strict height, weight and eye color requirement. My requirement is sulfate-free hair products.

The Beetique Goes Pink || Glamulet's Pink October

Wednesday, October 7, 2015

October marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual health campaign aimed at increasing the word of this dangerous disease. As a woman, I'm definitely not alone when I say I've wondered if I will be the "1 in every 8" diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I mean, it is the 2nd deadliest cause of death for woman around the world.

My First [white] DSLR :: Canon EOS Rebel SL1

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

The month of November is officially now on deck, a.k.a almost 1 FULL YEAR OF BLOGGING, so I decided that it's time to make a new investment. Call me waaaay overdue, because yes I'm soooo overdue, but I'm so excited to announce that I finally made the white Canon EOS Rebel SL1 mine.

» September Recap & Discoveries

Wednesday, September 30, 2015

My September archive is totally slacking, but I definitely know why. I blinked and the summer was over, and then I blinked again & September was over. What?! Okay. I can explain. I decided to diagnose myself with S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) because I actually can't explain how the transition from summer to fall makes me feel. And no, it's not the same feeling everyone else gets when they're stoked for "sweater season" and "pumpkin spice everything". VOM.com. Sounds like a lame excuse, I know, but hey, they don't call it a disorder for a reason!

So now that I know what my deal is, I vow to change it. This post is dedicated to wrapping up September and overcoming fall sadness in October. I promise I'll have a ton of fun 'ish for you to learn, read, and do(it yourself). Cheers.

Ahhh! There are so many things to be excited about today. For starters, it’s officially the first weekend of fall. Second, HAPPY FRIDAY! And last, but most definitely not least, it’s payday. I Can't Believe It's Not Foundation ▸ My Mon-Fri Beauty Drill

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

True life: I don't wear foundation. As much as that may be a surprise to you, it's even more of a surprise to me when I tell people and I get a SUPER surprised reaction. I first wore foundation in 7th grade, piling bronzer on top of it. This was during the time that digital cameras were so damn cool. Once I entered high school and "looked back" at my pictures, I was absolutely mortified. Aside from the fact that my skin tone fluctuates more than my weight, I'm either afraid to find the perfect match (also fearing that match may not be perfect to others) or just straight up traumatized.

So what do I wear on my face?! Here's my Monday to Friday beauty drill that not only makes me look and feel alive, but is just as important as my morning coffee.

My Dream Closet | Compass x The Beetique

My Dream Closet - The Beetique

It wasn't until recently that I put together a vision of what my dream closet would look like - could it be that I'm so used to teeny tiny closet space? Side note: By no means does the size of my closet reflect the size of my wardrobe. That 'ish is totally packed in! I recently found out about Compass, a new real estate platform based in New York, and was inspired to share my dream closet with you.

Essential Oil DIY :: Lavender Insomnia Spray

Tuesday, September 15, 2015

I'm super excited to share this DIY post because I know how many people, including a majority of my family and friends, suffer from insomnia every. damn. night. And guess what? There's absolutely no way you could mess this DIY up. Even a three year old couldn't. My DIY Lavender Insomnia Spray not only smells like bedtime heaven, but is so effective that you won't be able to get out of bed in the morning. Snooze button sold separately, of course.

DIY Antique Window x Wedding Quote Display

Monday, September 14, 2015

So many apologies for being MIA all week! I've been traveling and crafting away because my beautiful friend finally said 'I do' to the love of her life this past weekend. EVERYTHING - from the invitations, to the theme, to the venue.... was nothing short of magical. I was recruited to make these adorable personalized wedding party glasses as a gift for her bridal shower, and went home with another project to show off on their special day. I'm super impressed at how fab it came out, and I couldn't wait any longer to show you how easy it was!

Beetique Critique: #GIRLBOSS

Monday, August 31, 2015

Ahhh, #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. A blogger, fashionista, and entrepreneur's blueprint to aspiration. Firstly, I just want to say that #GIRLBOSS will forever hold a special place in my heart. Not just because Sophia's inspiring story is the offspring of degeneracy and brilliance.... but because this might have been the first book I've ever read from start to finish (#TBT to SparkNotes), and most definitely will not be the last.

I even wrote a 4,500-word outline when I was finished. Boom.

● Being Beautifully Introverted ●

Friday, August 28, 2015

It was only until recently that I accidentally stumbled upon the difference between introverts and extroverts. In fact, I didn't even know this was an existing spectrum. Once I did, I couldn't help but be pleasantly surprised - I'm totally an introvert. And guess what? If you are too, it's all good.

Monday, August 24, 2015

Do you ever hold back on buying a few new things because you already have enough [i know, i know... as if a girl could really have enough of anything], don't really need it, or simply because it's just not in the budget right now. Yeah, same! ....and THIS is how hauls are eventually conceived.

Thursday, August 13, 2015

Can't believe it's Throwback Thurz already! I seriously must black out from the second I wake up Monday morning and not snap out of it until sometime after lunch on Fridays. I still feel like it's 2010. Or should I say the 90's - considering this wouldn't be a proper #TBT post unless being a 90's betch was scribbled all over it. Let's go back in time to your childhood birthday wishlist.

LUSH » Dream Cream + Sympathy for the Skin

Wednesday, August 12, 2015

It's been a hot minute since I last gave a LUSH Cosmetics review [totally tried to make you guys forget about my addiction], but let it be known that the obsession is still real. I'm still experimenting with various LUSH products ((one payday at a time)) that I'm super excited to tell you about in the near future, so without further ado, I'd like to introduce my holy grail:  Dream Cream + Sympathy for the Skin hand & body lotion.

Is it just me or does everyone have their own vivid daydream of the most perfect home? Some people dream of a big house with a wrap-around porch and others may dream of a big yard with a white picket fence. Me? I literally think about my future "beach-entry" pool daily. Ridiculous, right? Wouldn't want it any other way. When Wicker Central reached out to see if I'd be interested in participating in their Outdoor Oasis Style Challenge, I knew the exact look I'd be going for.

My Yankees Ensemble ┇ DIY Cut Off Tee

Tuesday, July 28, 2015

For years my mother had been asking for tickets to see a Yankees game as a family. Being that I'm the youngest of three it's super hard for us to all get together. But guess what? We did it. Last Tuesday, the original Barry's + my little niece, Mia, took a joyride to the Bronx and witnessed the Yanks beat the Baltimore Orioles 3-2.

What's on My Beach Towel

Monday, July 13, 2015

Working a 9-5 job has made me appreciate my weekends so much more than I did while I was a student. And because I've been appreciating my weekends, I've never appreciated the summer as much as I do now. If you feel me on this, I'm sure you've noticed the pattern of "gorgeous summer weather Monday to Friday and cold, rainy Saturdays and Sundays". Yesterday was the most perfect beach day, and I'm so thankful that it fell on a Sunday.

LUSH » Life's a Beach & Sandstone Review

Monday, July 6, 2015

You know those teeny tiny beads inside your facial cleanser, body wash, toothpaste, and exfoliators? The ones that make you feel extra clean? Polyethylene Microbeads make YOU feel extra clean, but they're making our waters the farthest from clean. As you may know, they're used in many cosmetic products as an exfoliating agent. What you probably don't know, is that those little beads are actually made of plastic. Plastic is not biodegradable, and the beads are so small that they slip right through the sewage filter process. There are more than 300,000 microbeads in a typical bottle of facial scrub, and now 20% of our waterways are made up of these plastic particles. Hmph.

Chairish x The Beetique :: Mix n Chic Style Challenge

Tuesday, June 30, 2015
Chairish - Mix n Chic Style Challenge

When it comes to interior decorating, one thing always comes to mind: Shabby Chic. Although "Shabby Chic" is extremely broad to say the least, I noticed that my design focus has a common thread {no pun intended!}. It has me passionate about neutral colors such as gray, white, and beige, vintage accent colors such as black, brown gold, and silver, rustic furniture, modern faux fur, and clean, radiant vibes.

Throw Pillow Display x Storage Basket

Monday, June 8, 2015

Although I'm absolutely loving the cleanliness of my newly made-over bedroom, I'm ashamed to admit how often I actually make my bed. But seriously, if you don't have your own place and you still hit snooze till the very last second before you absolutely MUST wake up for work, then you already know ain't nobody got time for that.

It's often taken by surprise when others hear that I have four tattoos, let alone any at all. Located on all the most hidden areas a chick can hide, lies four tiny tats with mighty meaning. LUSH » Mask of Magnaminty Review

Tuesday, May 19, 2015

I told myself I'd never get addicted to LUSH Cosmetics until I made my first visit two weeks ago. Since then, I've been back to the store for more on 3 different occasions, $110 later... And the obsession will continue until further notice.

I now do more research on LUSH products than I ever studied for any of my college finals. After sampling and becoming a proud owner of a solid set of popular products, I decided LUSH's Mask of Magnaminty is a perfect first product review for those who are newbie Lushies... such as myself.
