12 Office Must-Haves

It's been a few weeks since I've completed my cubicle makeover and I have to admit that it makes spending 35 hours a week here at work 100 times more enjoyable. If you're thinking of decorating your work space, my only advice for you is to be patient - the whole makeover can't happen overnight, but its well worth it!

Here is what I believe to be the 12 office must-haves:

DIY Kiss Canvas

It's so hard to paint and rearrange your bedroom for a drastic change when all you want to do is skip to the decoration part. Luckily for me, I stocked up with some goodies from Michael's before getting snowed in today.

Plaid, Fur, & My MAC Snob Dupe

I'm loving how I can throw together my old plaid flannels that are now back in style with my many faux fur vests - the combo looks so cute together.

To complete the look, I'm rocking MAC Snob lipstick with MAC Chestnut lip liner. Just kidding, it's a drug store dupe! Ready to find out my combo?

Sorority // Fraternity Paddle

In honor of all my undergrad people returning to SUNY Cortland (aka Candyland) this weekend, I'm sharing one of my most favorite crafts I made as a sorority chick.

Traditionally, a "little" makes their "big" a decorated paddle with Greek letters, a meaningful message, their pledging year, or over-the-top ornamentation. I was brainstorming some good birthday gifts for my boyfriend and remembered him telling me that because his new little (lol) transferred to a different school, no paddle for him.

Light bulb...

Kylie Jenner's Rumored MAC Lips

Kylie Jenner's mauve matte lips have been the talk of 2014 - and now 2015. We've heard of so many different MAC lipsticks that are rumored to be used for her mauvey-pout. But that can't be all she's using!

SHHHH, I'm talking about lip liner, I know nothing else :-). The two MAC liners we're constantly hearing are Soar and Whirl, which are so hard to get your hands on now. Luckily, I had Soar in my possession before Kylie fans wiped them out.

The lipsticks I chose to swatch for you today are MAC's Velvet Teddy, Faux, and Twig (from left to right). I made a comparison collage for you who are as curious as I was about the differences between the rumored colors. I'll show ya the swatches of the lippies alone and also together with MAC's lip liner in Soar, so read on to get the scoop!

My Office Cubicle Makeover

I've been with my company since 2011 - my first summer home as a college kid, where I worked 3 days a week going from desk to desk helping others with any overwhelming loads of work they had. Now that I'm a college grad, I finally had the pleasure of becoming a full time employee.

That's right, I went from no desk, to the extra storage cubicle, to finally my own work space. With that being said, I made myself at home. I created an environment that is not only cozy and cute, but most importantly, it represents me.

2 months later & my DIY desk makeover is finally complete. I'm so excited to tell you about how I did it, and inspire you to fix up your own.

Quick Tan by Body Drench

Everyone has those days when they feel sickly pale.. The types of days where your favorite bronzer can't even do the job, but if it does, that quickly fades an hour later. Obsessed with indoor tanning all my life, I finally gave it a break after a friend told me to try Quick Tan by Body Drench.

I always had horrible experiences with self tanners. The lotions gross me out, they don't get along with my dry skin, and they smell like ass. BUT Quick Tan has made me believe otherwise.

Desk Glam: DIY Polaroid Photos

For the 4th time - my cubicle makeover is almost complete. I've been procrastinating for six months trying to choose which photos I want to print and display at work, so hopefully you made the cut :).

If you love what I did to achieve the Polaroid look, then I'm excited to share how I did it.

Determine Your Ring Size

I've been a fan of jewelry all my life, but never rings for two reasons. 1, they never fit my baby fingers, and 2, I would lose them because they'd magically fall off.

For my 21st birthday I was given the most gorgeous rose gold heart band ring. My boyfriend and I went back to Kay Jewelers where they sized my right hand's ring finger. I can't remember what size it ended  up being, but it was something so ridiculously small that I was told I'd need to wear my ring on a larger finger, otherwise there would be nothing left of the ring. I chose my middle finger which ended up being a size 4, and they sent the ring away to be sized.

Two years later and I'm ready to expand my ring collection... Side note: who knew that Pandora has great rings?! So I'm window shopping online last night for stackable rings and realized I have no clue what size I am. The size 4 ring is a little roomy after some time, and Pandora sells their rings by the size so they won't send away to get fitted.

Mac Siss + NYX Expresso

For those who know me - you know I'm a diehard lipstick fanatic.

The obsession is real, and only continuing to get worse. So bad, that I can't even buy a lipstick without getting a lip liner pairing as well. Not only am I running out of room in my lipstick storage space, but its getting harder to decipher which liner is which!

With that being said, I'm so excited to share my first lipstick swatch with you!

You Need: Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream

HOLY GRAIL!

I've been in love with Marc Jacobs Daisy since his line was introduced - not one of his additions to the collection disappoints. If you haven't tried Daisy Dream, you absolutely need to. I'm not into strong perfumes, and Dream is the perfect combination of elegance and femininity, with a floral, fruity touch.

Short Almond Nails

After hating on pointy stiletto nails for pretty much all of my life, I finally caved and tried almond shaped nails!

Since my nails have grown a significant amount since my last gel manicure (yes I still have baby nails no matter how long they are), they're definitely more subtle than traditional almond shaped acrylic nails.

Hair Styling - Sectioning 101

Being 11 years apart from my big sister, I was introduced to hairspray and styling tools at a very young age. I remember being like, 9, and begging my mom to let me use my sister's big ass Hot Tools hair straightener and hair gel on gymnastics competition days. That's probably why I burnt all my hair off in 8th grade and my stylist forced me to learn how to blow dry.

Now approaching 23 years young, I've noticed that ever since I was old enough to get my hands on a flat iron I've never geared away from the way I've sectioned my hair. Although it's a little different than the typical front, back, two sides sectioning your stylist does when they do your hair, I find my technique just as effective when doing others hair as well.
